Great Speckled Trout, Gray Trout and Blues fishing today.  Looks like it'll be a great week for the Speckled Trout, the weather is setting up to be idea conditions.

This whole week has seen great fishing in Hatteras!  Today 28 trout and 12 reds.

The weather broke and sun finally came out today!!!  The fishin' was great....Amen!!

What a great group of fisherman today.  Nice catch of speckled trout and flounder.

The morning trip caught several Speckled Trout, Gray Trout and Blues, but then fell short to the rain.  Afternoon trip scored 3 big Drum in the first 15 minutes then the clouds set in again.  Hope this weather clears up soon!

Despite the rain and clouds we scraped out a nice Red Drum yesterday, Monday, August 6th.

Captain's day off fun fishing.  Ran off the beach a couple of miles (slick calm) and had some fun with the dolphin on 10 lb. test spinning rods.

Morning trip had a great Spanish Mackeral and Bluefish bite along the beaches and saw a few Tarpon rolling around in the inlet.  The afternoon trip found 5 different schools of Reds.  Released 7 Red fish over 40" and 2 keeper 27" Reds (pictures above).  Another awesome day in Hatteras!

Despite the rain, wind and weather we still had a good Speckled Trout bite this morning.

The day started out with stormy weather (had to cancel morning trip), but the afternoon shaped up nice with a 30" Red Drum.

The Captain finally got to crank one for a change!
Red fish bite is still red hot!  but the Speckled Trout bite has slowed a bit, but still plenty out there to catch!

 Spotted the Drum in our 15 minute window before the clouds set in with thunderstorms.  Pretty work Bob!  Look forward to catching some keeper size in the Fall.

Had a great afternoon bite with Bob (above).  Caught and released two 46" Red Fish.

This morning was a fast and furious bite of Blues and Spanish (Kelsey and Rob below).

July 2012 - Red Fish

Still catching Cobia in the Pamlico Sound!  While 2-4 lbs Blues were snapping in the inlet and several nice Speckled Trout.  Expect to see a consistent Cobia bite all week!!!

Had the day off today, but still spent it on the water clamming for fun.  Clams Casino for dinner and crab cakes from Risky Business Seafood...AWESOME!!!

Today's catch:  flounder, speckled trout, sheeps head and blues.  Afternoon trip had a great time clamming in the clear, warm 82 degree water (reminded me of the Carribean on the Pamlico Sound!)

Today's morning charter caught Grey Trout and Blues, the afternoon got a limit of keeper Reds and a basket of clams.  It was a little windy today but still a great day on the water!

Morning charter had limits of Speckled & Grey Trout that were all quality size fish!  Over 30 Blues and several Marsh Marlins hooked-up.  After all that fishing we even had time to look for a few clams!  Afternoon charter had 4 Red Fish released citations over 40 lbs.   Another great day of fishing in Hatteras!!!!

Great trout bite and lots of big red fish have been caught this week in the flats.  Blues are prevalent and some keeper flounder are starting to show up.
